The Bald Eagle $5 Gold Coin (both proof and uncirculated versions) feature two young bald eagles on the Obverse. The Reverse is the Great Seal of the United States.
The Bald Eagle $1 Silver Coin (both proof and uncirculated versions) have a soaring adult bald eagles on the Obverse and the Reverse is the Great Seal of the United States.
The Bald Eagle Clad Half-Dollar (both proof and uncirculated versions) have a scene of two young eagle chicks and an un-hatched egg in a nest on the Obverse The Reverse shows the head of an Adult Bald Eagle "Challenger" and the U.S. Flag.
The Bald Eagle (aka American Eagle) has stood for courage, spirit and freedom since first used on the Great Seal of the U.S. in 1782.
Everyone remembers Ben Franklin's choice was the Wild Turkey, not the Bald Eagle and stated in part "He is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly...."
In any respect, the Bald Eagle Commemorative Coin is here whether Ben likes it or not.
The original sales of the Bald Eagle Coins by the U.S. Mint raised money with a surcharge that were to be paid to the American Eagle Foundation of Tennessee to protect Bald Eagles throughout the nation.
