The Presidential Dollar
The Presidential Dollar designs began in 2007 as the U.S. Mint honors all the Presidents of the Unites States in the same order as they served as President.

The Presidential Dollars are made of the same material as the Sacagewea Golden Dollars, which is pure Copper sandwiched between maganese-brass.
Total composition: 88.5% copper, 6.0% zinc, 3.5% manganese & 2.0% nickel.

The phrase "In God We Trust" and the year minted are "Incused" on the edge of each coin.

The nations is honoring all of the First Spouses (so far all first ladies) with $10 (half-ounce) gold coins. A "Liberty coin" will be produced for Presidents that were not married at the time of their Presidency.

Martha Washington- The 1st First Lady is shown sewing a button on George's Uniform.
Abigail Adams- reminded John Adams to "Remember the Ladies" as he helped form our new Nation.
Jefferson's Liberty - Jefferson had been a widower for 19 years before election as President.
Dolley Madison - saved important documents and portrait of George Washington from British Solders.

2008
Elizabeth Monroe - Presided over the re-opening of the White House after it's destruction by the British.
Louisa Adams- English born, the only First Lady not born in the U.S.
Jackson's Liberty - Jackson's wife died in December (between the election and inauguration).
Van Buren's Liberty - Van Buren had been a widower for 18 years before election as President.

2009 (Not yet available)
Anna Harrison - Coin to show her passion for teaching.
Letitia Tyler- Her ability to run the family plantation allowed John Tyler to run for office, but died soon after taking office.
Julia Tyler - married John Tyler while he was in office, coins will show her dancing with President.
Sarah Polk - coin will show her acting as official secretary to President Polk.
Margaret Taylor - coins will show her nursing soldiers during the Seminole war.
