The 2010 Native American $1 Coin will be know as "The Great Law of Peace".
The coin depicts the famous story of  Chief Hiawatha convincing the other tribes (Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga and Seneca) to "bury the hatchet" and make peace.  He showed them that one arrow could be broken, but many arrows together were too strong to be broken.

Beginning in 2009, the Sacagawea Dollar was changed to the new Native American $1 Coin will feature a different reverse each year that depicts an important part of Native American history or culture.  In 2009, the reverse is a Native American woman planting corn, bean and squash seeds (AKA Three Sisters).

The new Native American $1 coins are still be produced from the same Manganese Brass composition that gives them the "golden" color and the new 2010 coins are available now!

Sacagawea Dollars (Golden Dollar) are produced by the U.S. Mint at Philadelphia and Denver since 2000. They each carry the mint mark of where they were produced; "P" for Philadelphia and "D" for Denver.

Sacagawea is shown on the Obverse with her baby by artist Glenna Goodacre . Her son was born while she was helping guide the Lewis and Clark expedition in 1804. The Reverse shows a soaring eagle. The eagle is circled by 17 stars, one each for the 17 states that existed during the Lewis and Clark expedition.

The Golden Dollar is made from a sandwich of a Manganese brass composition surronding a pure copper core. The Maganese brass gives the coin the Golden color.

The Sagagawea Dollars have been highly prized by collectors since they were first produced.
Uncirculated Sacagawea Dollars are available in bags of 250 coins and in 25 coin U.S. Mint rolls.

Sacagawea Dollars are also included in the Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin set, which also includes four of the current year Presidential Dollars and a Silver American Eagle (6 dollars total).

Proof versions of the Sacagawea Dollars are included in the U.S. Mint Proof Sets and Silver Proof Sets.
