The $1 Gold Coins are the smallest coins ever produced by the U.S. Mint. One Dollar Gold Coins were produced between by the U.S. Mint between 1849 and 1889 in thre designs:
Liberty Head (1849-1854)
Small Indian Head (1854-1856)
Large Indian Head (1856-1889)
The $1 Gold Coins are 90% Gold and 10% Copper. The tiny coins weigh 1.672 grams and contain 0.04837 troy ounces of Gold.
