U.S. Dimes
U.S. Dimes have been in circulation in since 1796.
The first U.S. Dime was the "Draped Bust" produced in 1796-1807.
The "Capped Bust" dime followed from 1809-1837.
The "Seated Liberty" dime was produced between 1837-1891
The "Barber" dime was produced between 1892-1916 at four U.S. Mints; No mint mark indicates Philadelphia, O = New Orleans, S =.San Francisco and D = Denver.
The "Mercury Head" dimes were produced between 1916-1945 at three U.S. Mints; No mint mark = Philadelphia, S =.San Francisco and D = Denver.

The current U.S. Dime is the "Roosevelt" dime. It was issued in 1946 to honor President Franklin Roosevelt. Originally, the Roosevelt dime was made of 90% silver, but since 1965, they are a made from a "sandwich" of Copper and Nickel alloys.
As with the Mercury dime, the Roosevelt dime has been produced at 3 mints. Philadelphia (no mint mark), San Francisco and Denver. The San Francisco mint was not used between 1956-1967.
In 1968, The "S" mark re-appeared only on Proof Dimes that are included in U.S. Mint sets. 90%Silver Proof Dimes became available in 1992 (with S mint mark) and are still included all Silver U.S. Mint Proof Sets.
